ManTech Plans to Hire up to 500 Employees

Crews were slated to break ground later today on a new building in Belcamp for ManTech International Corp., an information technology company tied to the Pentagon’s Base Realignment and Closure plan.
The Pentagon's Base Realignment and Closure plan is spurring development around Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The company plans to hire or relocate up to 500 employees from Fort Monmouth, N.J., to 4696 Millennium Drive in Manekin LLC’s Water’s Edge Corporate Campus. Officials from ManTech (NASDAQ: MANT) don’t know yet how many people they’ll be hiring locally, but politicos including U.S. Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger touted the relocation as a shot in the arm for Harford County.
“It is exciting news to hear that ManTech is expanding and growing its workforce here in Harford County,” Ruppersberger said in a statement. “Maryland prides itself on offering businesses a well-educated, highly skilled workforce. ManTech is tapping into this great resource.”
The company’s website shows it is gearing up for its relocation, and is seeking, among other positions, a production engineer with Secret government clearance to help it oversee a variety of activities. There’s no salary range listed, but you can browse their Careers link here.
Not so far from Water’s Edge, St. John Properties Inc. set out a notice this morning about Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) at its Government and Technology Enterprise business park in Aberdeen.
Like ManTech, Boeing’s being drawn to the area because of BRAC, and the company says about 25 workers will occupy its new space at the GATE. No clue from its website how many of those workers already work for Boeing and how many of them have yet to be hired by the company.
